Depending upon where we are in the world a tattoo with an image of a reptile may arouse either fear or venerations. In ancient Egypt, snakes represented the eternal cycle of life and death, the Greeks believed snakes brought knowledge to mankind, and to the Australian aborigines they are a symbol of creation and the Native Americans associate reptiles with potency and fertility. Reptiles are also associated with the Satan in Christianity. It is believed that reptile tattoos make women more attractive.
